Talkmail- April 26, 2010
Good afternoon, this is Gary Wilson, principal of BMHS, with your talkmail message for the week.
- BMHS is holding its annual Book fair on April 28th, 29th, and 30th in the library. Students are encouraged to bring in their used books to contribute to the fair. Prizes wil be awarded to the individual, as well as to the class, who brings in the most books. Open to parents and students, the book fair offers a wide variety of books for prices between 2-5 dollars. Money raised goes back to the library for the purchase of books and related materials.
- All students returning to BMHS next year received a course selection verification form on Tuesday. This form simply lists the courses that were selected for next year. Please sign and return the form if you haven’t already done so
- Midterm report cards were sent home on Friday
- On Wednesday May 5 we will host a very special evening at BMHS from 6:30 to 9 p.m., the public dedication of our library to the memory of Sandy Lass former BMHS and Evergreen Park teacher who passed away last spring. The evening will consist of a fund-raiser for the library, performances in the theatre, the library dedication, and coffee and dessert as refreshments.
- We are inviting parents and staff members who have a special recipe and who knew Sandy, to prepare and donate a dessert for this event. Although we can buy desserts commercially, it is a chance for us to honour Sandy Lass and celebrate her community and her commitment to education. If you are willing to prepare a dessert for this event, you will need to deliver it to the cafeteria on May 5 by 4:30 p.m. We would ask that you try to prepare a dessert that does not need refrigeration as our facilities are limited, but please be part of this event by making a favourite treat, bring it to us, and we'll look after serving it to our guests. If you plan to donate a dessert, please call Diane Ross at 382-5143 or email to
