We wish to advise you that due to the impending storm we will have an early closure today. Busses will be picking High School STudents up at 2 p.m. The Conflict exams, session 3 at 1:15 today will be postponed until Monday at 8:45 a.m. Students will meet their individual teachers in their classrooms.
Also, just a reminder that on Jan 3oth and 31st there will be no school for students as these are turnaround days. Semester 2 for students will begin on Wednesday, Feb 1st. Students will report to their first semester homeroom to pick up a copy of their new schedule.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT BMHS . SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17TH: SOBEY’S VAUGHN HARVEY LOCATION: Special promotion. If you purchase a $10 food bag(which will be donated back to BMHS Fill the Bus Campaign) you will receive 10% off your grocery receipt purchase on this day.
. MONDAY, DECEMBER 19TH: Final day of the Fill the Bus Campaign competition among homerooms Progress report #2 home with students Movie Night-Harry Potter(Fill The Bus Campaign) . TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20TH: School Orchestra Music Night, 7PM BMHS Fill the yellow school buses with many boxes of food to be brought to the Food Depot Alimentaire . WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 21ST: Xmas Semi-Formal, 7:30-10:30 pm, BMHS cafeteria, $10 for students and $12 for a guest
. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23RD: School will be a half day schedule. Walking students dismissed at 12:30 and bus students to leave at the same time. Cafeteria will be closed for lunch on this day.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT BMHS, NOVEMBER 25TH, 2011-11-25
1. THE “TURKEY DRIVE” MEDIA LAUNCH WILL TAKE PLACE AT BMHS ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH AT 11:00 AM. MONDAY MORNING WILL BE THE LAST MORNING THAT FROZEN TURKEYS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE SCHOOL IN SUPPORT OF OUR CAMPAIGN. THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY MADE A TURKEY DOANTION IN SUPPORT OF THE SUE STULTZ AND LOCAL 999 MONCTON FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION, 14TH ANNUAL TURKEY DRIVE. WE CERTAINLY APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT TO THIS GREAT CAUSE.
2. ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2ND, OUR VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN THE IRVING HOOP CLASSIC. WE WILL BE HAVING A SCHOOL SPIRIT GAME DURING PERIOD 4 WHERE STUDENTS CAN BUY A TICKET TO ATTEND.
3. During THE MONTH OF DECEMBER WE WILL BE OFFERING INTERVENTIONS TO THOSE STUDENTS WHO WILL BE REWRITING OUR ELPA(ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY ASSESSMENT) DURING OUR DIRECTED LEARNING PERIOD.
4. THE REQUEST FOR PARENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BMHS SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLANNING PARENT SURVEY DEADLINE WAS SET FOR TODAY, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH. WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE PARTICIPATION TO DATE AND WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND THE SURVEY COMPLETION DATE TO MONDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH . WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION.
5. DROWSY CHAPERONE SCHOOL MUSICAL TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE MAIN OFFICE, JEAN COUTU ON ST. GEORGE ST AND JEAN COUTU 1789 MOUNTAIN ROAD. SHOWS BEGIN AT 7:30 PM ON DECEMBER 7-10. ADULTS $12, STUDENTS $10.

WHAT’S HAPPENING: BMHS DECEMBER 1ST, 2011-12-01 1. The School Musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone” will be in operation next week beginning on Wednesday, December 7th-Saturday, December 10th. Each show will begin at 7:30 PM at a cost of $12 adults and $10 students. Tickets available at the main office or Jean Coutu, 1789 Mountain Road, or St. George Street location. We look forward to you joining us and enjoying the performance of our cast and directors.
2. Thank you to those who made a donation of a turkey to support the 14th Annual, “Sue Stultz and Local 999 Firefighters Association. The media launch at the school on Monday was a great success. We were able to donate 63 turkeys to the cause.
3. Now, we are not stopping yet. We are now in full gear of collecting non-perishable goods in support of the “Fill the Bus campaign”. Many weekly activities occurring in aid of supporting the cause and making a difference in the community. We appreciate your support as we aim to reach our goal of 20, 000 lbs. of non-perishable goods.
4. School spirit game tomorrow, Friday, December 2nd at 1:15 pm as we cheer on our Varsity Boy’s Basketball team in the Irving Oil Hoop classic.
5. Moncton Miracles is offering District 2 high school students a ticket price of $5 with presence of student ID card. Purchase your ticket at the coliseum ticket office prior to beginning of the Friday night game.

WHAT’S HAPPENING FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH, 2011-11-18. 1. Reports card have been sent home today with your son/daughter. Please take note that on the back of the report card we have provided you with a BMHS newsletter summarizing some important dates and events. 2. We are asking for your participation as parents to take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to complete a survey prepared by us at BMHS. The purpose of the survey is to receive feedback from you with respect to School Improvement. This survey is anonymous and is to be completed electronically by visiting the following link: http://tiny.cc/BMHSsurvey2. We have recently surveyed our staff, and plan to survey our students later this month. We would ask that the survey be submitted by Friday, November 25th. We thank you in advance for your participation to guide us forward with your feedback. 3. The Moncton Girl’s Conference for November 25th has now been cancelled. 4. Congratulation to our Varsity Boys Football team on bringing home a provincial banner last Saturday. Many thanks to Mr. Wasson and his dedicated coaching staff for the tremendous time put forth with the team. Proud to be a Highlander! 5. “Fill the Bus” campaign will begin with various activities and event s occurring over the next month. The goal is to raise 20,000 pounds which we have done in the past years. Your support will be greatly appreciated. Stay tuned for more details as to how you can support. 6. On November 28th, BMHS will host the media launch for the “Sue Stultz and the Local 999 I.A. F. F. Moncton Firefighters Association Turkey Drive”. We will have an assembly with the student body on this date. Please note that during the following dates: November 23, 24, 25 and the 28th, between the hours of 8:00-8:45 am student government members will greet you at the front entryway and collect any frozen turkeys that may be donated to the campaign. Each turkey that a student donates, will allow he/she a ballot entry to win a prize which will be presented at the November 28th assembly. |
